Georgian Manganese Continues Full Operations amidst Crisis

Georgian Manganese’s Operation Director Mr Merab Lominadze told Imedi TV in the Imedi Business show that the company continues to fully operate, while implementing all the necessary safety means from the very first day of introducing state of emergency in the country due to COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

“From the very first day of introducing special measures by the government, we have created a working group that has a daily task of controlling and implementing special safety measures at the production sites. This group is closely working with various government agencies and, I believe, is doing a good job so far. It is not an easy process for us. As of now, none of our production sites have been suspended. Safety measures include face masks, regular disinfection works and body temperature measurement, which fully complies with the Georgian Health Ministry recommendations.”

“Regardless of economic crisis in the country, Georgian Manganese has not decreased the number of its employees. Moreover, it has increased its production volume and introduced the new furnace at the ferroalloys plant. The company currently employs over 5,000 workers and has about 2,000 contractors,” Lominadze said.
