Georgia Tightens Regulations on Air Pollution

Georgian government plans to tighten regulations on air pollution and to increase penalties for commercial organizations. Management of the Georgian Manganese welcomes these changes in legislation, as the company continues to work on improving its ecological status.

According to Irakli Nozadze, Georgian Manganese’s Director of Environment Protection, active members of the business sector must constantly consider the risks involved in their production process.

“Protecting the environment and improving the ecological situation is not only the state’s responsibility. It is also responsibility of all citizens and commercial organizations. Therefore, tightening regulations on air pollution in Georgia is viewed as a step forward,” Nozadze said.
